SES Ku-ring-gai and the recent extreme weather

Thumbnail

I visited SES Ku-ring-gai Unit at their Wahroonga response centre, as they worked to support the people of Northern Sydney affected by intense rain and floods.

I chatted with Alex Eagles, incident controller at the Ku-ring-gai Unit, about how his team of volunteers handled the wild weather. Click here to watch our conversation.

At the peak of the extreme weather, SES Ku-ring-gai had 150 volunteers in the field – helping locals deal with fallen trees and flooded homes.

While I was there, I tried my hand at filling sandbags – shifting a small fraction of the 12 tonnes of sand moved by SES that week!
