Roads to Recovery a double boost to local roads in Bradfield

LOCAL streets and roads in Bradfield will benefit from the Australian Government’s Roads to Recovery Programme being doubled in 2015–16 to $2.4 million.

The 2015-16 Federal Budget confirmed a national commitment to doubling the Roads to Recovery investment in the next financial year to support greater access for Australians and improved safety, economic and social outcomes.

This is part of the Australian Government’s Economic Action Strategy to invest a record $580.8 million in world-class productivity-enhancing infrastructure in NSW to create jobs, improve safety, reduce travel times and boost economic growth.

Federal Member for Bradfield Paul Fletcher said that the Roads to Recovery funding boost would support much-needed local street and road projects in Bradfield.

“This major injection of funding for local street and road priorities will create jobs, boost our local economy and make our roads safer for the whole community.

“Doubling investment for 2015-16 epitomises the importance the Australian Government places on local needs and building the infrastructure Australia needs from the local level up.

“In addition to this new spending, work is underway on the NorthConnex roadway – another significant project in Bradfield.

“Importantly, Roads to Recovery projects are nominated by local councils to meet local priorities.”
