Road Black Spot Funding Approved for Bradfield

Federal Member for Bradfield Paul Fletcher today announced Commonwealth Government funding of $120,000 to fix a dangerous black spot at the intersection of Pennant Hills Road and the Pacific Highway Wahroonga.

Commenting on the decision, Mr Fletcher said the Abbott Government was serious about improving road safety and had committed significant funds in the recent Budget to address areas of concern.

‘The Black Spot Programme targets dangerous roads with the aim of making roads safer and more productive for all road users. For the people of Bradfield who regularly travel along Pennant Hills road and the Pacific Highway, the installation of 100 metres of raised deflective kerb will make the intersection safer.

‘The Government has committed a record $500 million to the Black Spot Programme which includes an additional $200 million from the Infrastructure Growth Package.’ Mr Fletcher said.

Individuals and community groups are encouraged to nominate black spots for consideration as the Government considers the eligibility criteria for the additional $200 million of funding. Nominations can be made via: http://investment.infrastructure.gov.au/funding/blackspots/nominate_black_spots.aspx
