Paul Fletcher to join the Tech Council of Australia
I am pleased to be joining the board of the Tech Council of Australia, succeeding my friend and fellow Liberal Victor Dominello.
The Tech Council has been a strong and effective voice for Australia’s digital and technology sectors since it was founded five years ago; key to its success has been a bipartisan approach, with both ex Liberal and ex Labor MPs serving on its board. The tech sector is critical to Australia’s prosperity and economic future, and its importance will only grow. I am proud of the work done by Liberal governments to create the conditions for Australia’s tech sector to flourish, including the National Innovation and Science Agenda reforms delivered by the Turnbull Government; these changes supercharged innovation and greatly boosted venture capital investment. In my time in the parliament, including as Communications Minister, I was a consistent advocate for policy settings to boost science, innovation and the digital economy.
I now look forward to contributing towards the Tech Council’s work and policy advocacy.
