Media Release: Work Continues on a City Deal for Geelong

I welcome the Victorian Government’s budget commitment to a convention centre for Geelong, as a component of the Geelong City Deal.

There are continuing productive discussions between the Commonwealth and Victorian Governments, local councils and other stakeholders as we develop the City Deal.

Sarah Henderson, Federal member for Corangamite, is a strong voice for her community as we continue these discussions.

We are continuing to consider possible elements of the City Deal, in Geelong and the surrounding region including the Shipwreck Coast. 

I look forward to our further discussions with stakeholders as we develop the City Deal, and to Commonwealth Government commitments being announced later this year when the terms of the City Deal are finalised
