MEDIA RELEASE - When will Labor’s Live Performance Support Fund hit the stage?

The Albanese Government’s Live Performance Support Fund, which was supposed to commence this month, appears to still be waiting in the wings.

In September, Tony Burke announced the Fund and said the “Albanese Government is safeguarding the summer festival season” and giving the live performance sector “the confidence they need”.

The announcement was made with no detail other than that it would run from November 2022 until February 2023. We’re almost at the end of November, so where is it?

In the October Budget there was nothing more than moving existing money around and applying some new labels.

“Why did Labor rip $20 million out of the RISE Fund and reallocate it into a program they now seem to have lost interest in delivering? This funding could have been flowing to the sector months ago”.  Mr Fletcher said.

This is more of the same old Labor. Talking a big game and delivering nothing.
