Media Release: National Regional Arts Fellowship Program opens for applications

Artists and arts workers in regional, rural and remote Australia are invited to apply for a National Regional Arts Fellowship to support their practice. The central themes of this year’s program reflects the drought and bushfires.

Three Fellowships of up to $20,000 and two up to $10,000 are available through Regional Arts Australia and provide a secure, short-term wage for artists or arts workers that allows them to develop their individual practice and career in regional Australia.

Minister for Communications, Cyber Safety and the Arts, the Hon Paul Fletcher MP encouraged artists and arts workers, particularly those in drought and bushfire affected communities, to apply for a Fellowship that responds to their experience of living in affected areas.

“I encourage artists and arts workers from across regional, rural and remote Australia to apply for a Fellowship through Regional Arts Australia,” Minister Fletcher said.

“These Fellowships will provide a financial boost for the recipients and support them to progress their careers and use their artistic talents to share their stories.”

National Regional Arts Fellowships are offered by Regional Arts Australia and open on 20 January 2020.
