Federal Member for Bradfield Paul Fletcher today congratulated local Pymble Ladies College student, Winnie Lee, for winning the Simpson Prize for NSW in a national competition.

The Simpson Prize is a national competition open to students in years nine and 10. The competition encourages participants to focus on the significance of Anzac Day and to consider what Anzac Day means to them and to Australia.

Commenting on the prize Mr Fletcher said it was important for younger generations to understand the Anzac story and why it was a defining moment in our history.

‘With this year being the Centenary of Anzac the Simpson Prize has a special significance and I congratulate Winnie on keeping the Anzac story relevant for her generation ’, Mr Fletcher said.
