Have your say about freedom of speech in a modern day democracy

Federal Member for Bradfield Paul Fletcher today encouraged local university students to enter The Speaker’s University Challenge, where students are asked to explore the topic: ‘Freedom of speech in a modern day democracy’.

‘The University Challenge is a terrific opportunity for students to put forward a well-considered case, backed up by research, original ideas and a professional presentation’, Mr Fletcher said.

‘Students are asked to present their ideas in a three-minute video presenting their point of view. Their work is then judged against a set criteria. The winning entry receives a $500 cash prize and an opportunity to meet The Speaker, Bronwyn Bishop, in Canberra.

‘The Speaker’s University Challenge is a great opportunity for any student wanting to showcase their ability to present a compelling case – I encourage local students to enter,’ Paul Fletcher commented.
