Fletcher Invites Bradfield Online Safety Submissions

Paul Fletcher, Member for Bradfield and Chair of the Coalition’s Online Safety Working Group, has urged the people of Bradfield to make submissions to the working group regarding the important issues of online safety for children and young people.

The Coalition’s Online Safety Working Group is travelling around the country hearing from children and young people, parents, teachers and others with an interest in the vital issue of online safety for children and young people.  Already the group has held community consultations in Tasmania and the first of a series of programs in Sydney.

‘In addition, we are calling for written submissions – and I am very keen to see the views of my constituents in Bradfield strongly represented,’ Mr Fletcher said.

‘The Working Group is dealing with a range of topics - including cyber-bullying, exposure to inappropriate content, and addiction to social media - and we welcome submissions on all or any of them’.

‘I frequently have concerns about these issues raised with me by people in Bradfield’.

‘A submission does not have to be long – even a paragraph or two will be very helpful to us.  Submissions can be lodged in writing, by email to [email protected], or by commenting on the OSWG’s Facebook page, www.facebook.com/CoalitionOSWG.

‘The OSWG has been asked to give its recommendations to Tony Abbott and Shadow Cabinet by the middle of the year,’ Mr Fletcher concluded.
