Bradfield students victorious at International Science Olympiads

Two of Bradfield’s brightest secondary school students have returned home from the International Science Olympiads in triumph, having secured bronze medals, Member for Bradfield, Mr Paul Fletcher MP, announced today.

“I congratulate Justin Cheung from Sydney Grammar School for being awarded a bronze medal in Physics, and Nathan Isaacson from North Sydney Boys High School for attaining a bronze medal in Biology,” said Mr Fletcher.

“Awards such as these are held in very high regard, and are a testament to the dedication, rigour and perseverance required to achieve the highest levels of academic excellence.”

“The International Science Olympiads are an annual competition for exceptionally talented secondary school students from more than 100 countries, and represent the pinnacle of achievement in each discipline.”

“Justin and Nathan were selected to represent Australia based on their outstanding achievements in a series of challenging exams and training sessions.  From an original 2,700 students who sat the National Qualifying Exams in Biology, Chemistry or Physics, to the top performing 70 students chosen to attend an intense training school facilitated by Australian Science Innovations (ASI) at Monash University, to the final selection exam, these students proved they were the best of the best.”

“I congratulate Justin and Nathan on their achievements – and I am sure this will not be the last we hear of either of them!” said Mr Fletcher.
