Bradfield high school students match the world’s best at Science and Maths Olympiads

‘Bradfield residents Hannah Mugford of Pymble Ladies College and John Papantoniou of Sydney Grammar have matched the world’s best, winning medals at the 2012 International Science and Mathematics Olympiads earlier this month’, Member for Bradfield Paul Fletcher said today.

John was awarded bronze at the International Mathematics Olympiad in Argentina, while Hannah was awarded silver at the International Biology Olympiad in Singapore.

550 students from around the world competed in mathematics and 234 in biology.

‘These are some of the most difficult examinations any young person can undergo; John and Hannah should be very proud of their efforts’.

‘John and Hannah represented Australia – and Bradfield – with distinction’.

‘I congratulate John and Hannah on their achievements’.
