Bradfield celebrates Australia Day awards

The depth of the contribution made by residents of Bradfield to our Australian nation – in many diverse fields – was shown by the large number of Australia Day awards received by residents of our area.

“It is always pleasing to see appropriate recognition given to people who have worked so hard, over such a long period of time,” said Paul Fletcher MP, Member for Bradfield.

“The depth of expertise and professional accomplishment among the local recipients of honours was particularly noteworthy.

“For example, Professor Richard Johnson of Wahroonga was made an Officer of the Order (AO) for service to architecture; former NSW Auditor General Peter Achterstraat of Warrawee was made a Member of the Order (AM) for service to public administration; and David Mills of Roseville was made an AM for service to science."

In all, the Bradfield Honour roll included an AO, five AMs and five OAMs (Medal of the Order).

“Our community is rich and diverse and it is incumbent on all of us to acknowledge and thank those who do so much,” said Paul Fletcher.
