Bradfield Builds Stronger Communities With New Federal Government Programme

Local community groups in Bradfield will be able to apply for grants of between $5,000 and $20,000 to fund small capital projects under the Federal Government's Stronger Communities Programme.

Federal Member for Bradfield Paul Fletcher MP said the Programme will offer support to important community projects in Bradfield.

'I will convene a community consultation group to help me identify projects which are worthy of consideration across our community.'

For a project to win funding under the Stronger Communities Programme, it must also have obtained funding of at least the same amount from other sources, in cash or in-kind.

Local government and incorporated not-for-profit organisations are eligible to apply.

There is $150,000 available in the Bradfield electorate for the 2015-16 year and a further $150,000 in the 2016-17 year.

Applications for the 2015-16 year must be sent to the Office of Paul Fletcher MP by 5 pm on Wednesday 30 October.

'As I move around Bradfield I frequently hear from local organisations about worthy projects in need of financial support – so I am confident that this Programme will deliver important benefits.

'I am pleased that this Programme is underway and I am looking forward to working with community groups to identify appropriate projects,' Mr Fletcher said.
