Bradfield boosted through local government grants

Payments to councils in Bradfield are being made under the Australian Government Financial Assistance Grant programme.

Federal Member for Bradfield, Paul Fletcher, said the Australian Government is providing $2.3 billion in quarterly payments to local councils nationwide in 2014-15.

“Councils are free to spend this untied grant funding according to local priorities, including for infrastructure, health, recreation, environment, employment and roads projects,” Mr Fletcher said.

“The first quarterly payment for 2014-15 was made to councils in August 2014.”

Mr Fletcher said councils in Bradfield will receive $2,646,282 in Financial Assistance Grants each quarter this year, including:

  • Ku-Ring-Gai Council - $885,956
  • Hornsby Shire Council - $1,239,293.75
  • Willoughby Council – $521,032.5

“I am looking forward to seeing our local councils target local priorities with this funding, along with additional funding provided under the $565 million Black Spot and $2.1 billion Roads to Recovery programmes,” Mr Fletcher said.
