Are we tired of being wired? Find out at the inaugural Bradfield Comedy Debate
Breakfast radio host Adam Spencer and well known ex-journalist Sally Loane and will be among those offering their wit and insights as they debate That we are tired of being wired in the inaugural Bradfield Comedy Debate on Sunday 16 October at 4 pm.
With generous support from principal sponsor McCarroll’s Toyota, along with Lindfield Community Bank and Swimart Lindfield, all proceeds from the debate will go to support the KYDS youth counselling service.
An initiative of Bradfield MP Paul Fletcher assisted by the Lindfield Rotary Club, this event promises to be amusing and thought provoking in equal measure.
Spencer and Loane will be joined by Peter Duncan (writer-director of ABC TV’s Rake) and filmmaker and Sydney Theatre Company executive producer Jo Dyer, along with Paul Fletcher.
‘Is the world really better off now that Twitter means we all think we are celebrities? Now that on the train there is always someone saying into a mobile phone ‘I’m on the train’? Now that you have a choice of writing, calling, texting, emailing, Facebooking or Skype-ing? These are some of the big questions we’ll be raising,’ said Sally Loane for the Affirmative Team.
‘So we’d rather rely on carrier pigeons, smoke signals and the Pony Express, would we?’ responded Jo Dyer of the Negative Team.
‘I hope to see lots of people come to the Bradfield Comedy Debate, and join me and other speakers after the Debate for light refreshments,’ Bradfield MP Paul Fletcher said.
‘It should be a fun afternoon – and we’ll be supporting the extremely important work done by KYDS in building the mental health and resilience of young people.’
