Appointment of new SBS Board members

 

The Morrison Government has appointed Mr Vic Alhadeff as a non-executive Director and Ms Christine Zeitz as Deputy Chairperson to the Special Broadcasting Service (SBS) Board.

 

Minister for Communications, Urban Infrastructure, Cities and the Arts, the Hon Paul Fletcher MP, said both members bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the Board that will enable them to understand the needs and interests of SBS’s diverse audience.

 

“I congratulate Mr Alhadeff and Ms Zeitz on their appointments and look forward to seeing the valuable contribution they will make to the SBS Board,” Minister Fletcher said.

 

“They will strengthen the already diverse skills available to SBS’s leadership team, including in areas such as the Asia Pacific and multicultural affairs.”

 

Vic Alhadeff is currently a part-time consultant with the NSW Jewish Board of Deputies and the Executive Council of Australian Jewry, and a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He was previously the Chair of Multicultural NSW has extensive experience in media and multicultural affairs.

 

Christine Zeitz has been a non-executive Director on the SBS Board since May 2018. She is the General Manager of the Asia Pacific region for Northrop Grumman Corporation, where she is responsible for all aspects of growth, program awards and the execution and financial performance in the Asia Pacific.

 

Mr Alhadeff has been appointed for a period of five years and Ms Zeitz has been appointed until the conclusion of her term in her current role as non-executive Director, both starting immediately.
