Disruption to phone and internet services in Bradfield
Recent severe weather has led to physical damage and water ingress impacting the Telstra network in Bradfield. Local businesses and residents of Bradfield are experiencing outages to their Telstra and internet services, and understandably, are becoming frustrated with the lack of information provided to them.
My Electorate Office is engaging closely with affected constituents to assist them to engage with Telstra and get their services repaired.
At this stage, I can advise that services that have been affected include ADSL, NBN, PSTN voice and some mobile services.
Telstra has advised that there are several locations that remain impacted and are progressively being restored. These include Asquith, Wahroonga, Waitara, Killara, Lindfield and Roseville.
Remediation work is currently underway across the electorate. For damages attributed to water, this includes pumping flooded pits and manholes and replacing damaged hardware. For damaged mains cables, cable replacements are being made where possible – this can be a lengthy process as these cables traverse under roads, exacerbating the time it takes for restoration.
