Fletcher welcomes Neighbour Day

Member for Bradfield, Paul Fletcher is encouraging people in Bradfield to hold street parties or community events to mark Neighbour Day on March 27.
Founded in Melbourne by Andrew Heslop, Neighbour Day is now in its ninth year.

The aims of Neighbour Day include strengthening communities and building better relations; breaking down community barriers; and creating safer, healthier and more vibrant suburbs and towns.

Australians have embraced the day by organising events such as street parties or major community events in public spaces.

"If you are thinking of organising a street party, make sure you obtain a permit from your local council – and leave yourself plenty of time to apply for it," Mr Fletcher said.
