ETS and climate change Print E-mail

“Climate change is a very important issue. We need to make sure we get this issue right and give the planet the benefit of the doubt.

As the Greens said, Labor’s ETS was a failure in tackling climate change.

The responsible course is for us to take action. But it needs to be action as a planet – Australia cannot act ahead of the world.

This is too important an issue to rush, just so Kevin Rudd could strut the world stage at Copenhagen.

I will be a strong Liberal voice on the environment, along with a range of other issues – fixing our hospitals, overdevelopment, ensuring we have a strong economy and opposing Labor’s debt.”

Economy Print E-mail

Local families and businesses work hard to balance their budgets and contribute to the community, and we believe that Governments should reciprocate this effort.

We will continue to take a stand against Labor’s reckless spending and demand better value for money for your taxes.

Only by carefully managing the economy can we create real jobs, minimise the economic pressure on families, and pay for frontline services in the long term.

We will continue to fight excessive red-tape and regulation because our local businesses are key to long term jobs and a healthy local economy.

Have your say - how do you think Labor will be able to re-pay the $315 billion debt?

Environment Print E-mail

We all care about the environment and making sure we leave it in better shape for future generations.

To do that, we need practical solutions.

We need a system which delivers a sustainable plan for the environment.

A system which is transparent, market driven and does not force penalise Australian businesses and families.

Health Print E-mail

We believe in helping those who choose to take the pressure of the public health system by investing in private health insurance.

This choice is now under attack by Labor and the Greens and we will continue to take a stand against higher premiums.
