Another critical IT project abolished under Labor

Labor’s decision to abolish the Coalition’s Modernising Business Registers program is another troubled sign that this government simply doesn’t understand the importance of digital service delivery.

The program sought to save business owners time and money by consolidating a range of business and company registers.

This is another example of Labor drifting when it comes to digital transformation.

Of course there have been challenges along the way, but you don’t turn your back on businesses and abandon the program because it’s difficult. You work with the relevant stakeholders and collaborate to find a sensible way forward.

Australian businesses are operating in a competitive global economy. We need a government serving and supporting these businesses with modern, user-friendly technology. Sadly this current Labor Government does not seem very interested in serving Australians (including Australian businesses) better.
