ABC Funding Explainer

The funding of the ABC has been a topic of considerable debate in recent months. Unfortunately there is a lot of incorrect or incomplete information being circulated. For example, there were two key budget decisions, one in May 2018 and one in April 2019, but a lot of commentary overlooks the later decision.

So that everyone has the facts, here is an explainer of ABC funding, which sets out all of the key issues including the triennial funding arrangement; all of the budget decisions made in the lead up to the current ABC funding triennium commencing; and which is the right budget document to use.
